Imaging

Imaging Department

The imaging department of Behboud Hospital is one of the most important and best-equipped medical imaging centers in the province. It occupies an area of approximately 650 square meters on the first basement level of the hospital’s main building, connected to the other floors by a staircase and six elevators of various capacities. It includes the MRI section, digital radiology, OPG, digital mammography, digital portable radiography in the wards, bone densitometry, spiral CT scan, and ultrasound. Each unit is housed in a separate area and meets international standards, with all support facilities, equipment, and personnel. All patients are admitted in person, and results are provided in the shortest possible time.

MRI

The MRI unit features a 1.5 Tesla device manufactured by GE, USA, with a 70-centimeter patient bore and the ability to suppress noise during brain protocols. It is equipped with various coils for all organs and offers high resolution. The device has the necessary capabilities for eliminating motion and metal artifacts, and supports non-contrast angiography, very small FOV high-resolution imaging, three-dimensional imaging, and the calculation of fat and iron deposition in the liver. This section operates 24 hours a day (admissions until 7 p.m.), and reports are delivered to patients without delay. (Phone: 31551520)

CT Scan

This is a spiral-type CT scanner with unlimited daily admission capacity, providing all requested services to patients. The 8-slice CT scanner is manufactured by GE, USA, and is capable of performing CT scans without weight limitations. This section is highly active, with reports delivered to patients within 24 hours at most. The radiologists in this section have completed advanced training on this system and are among the best radiologists in their field. The unit operates daily from 7:30 a.m. (Phone: 31551325)

Bone Densitometry (BMD)

This device is manufactured by Hologic, USA. Osteoporosis and bone softening are common problems among Iranians over the age of 30. If this silent disease is diagnosed in time, it can be treated even after a fracture. Fortunately, good methods are now available to the public. The bone densitometry device makes it possible to prevent fractures resulting from osteoporosis through timely diagnosis. This section operates during morning and evening shifts. (Phone: 31551326)

Ultrasound

This is one of the most active units of the imaging department. Several radiologists (men and women) simultaneously perform ultrasound examinations during morning and evening shifts. The section performs all types of standard and color (Doppler) ultrasound, as well as transvaginal and transrectal ultrasound, by radiology and ultrasound specialists during morning and evening shifts. Breast and thyroid biopsies are also performed under ultrasound guidance. The systems in this section are continuously upgraded and the device options are improved daily. Several of the ultrasound machines are equipped with the elastography option, which provides high accuracy in diagnosing breast masses. (Phone: 31551530)

Digital Mammography

This device is manufactured by Hologic, USA, and is capable of imaging breasts of any size with minimal radiation and high resolution, operating during morning and evening shifts. The accuracy of this device is much higher than that of similar devices, consistently earning the satisfaction of referring physicians. (Phone: 31551327)

Digital Radiology

The advanced radiography device in this section is digital, branded Stephanix, manufactured in France. All standard and color radiographies are performed without weight limitations, including spinal telemetry, limb telemetry, and painless hysterosalpingography (color radiography of the uterus and fallopian tubes). All radiographies are performed without prior appointment, and reports are delivered to patients within at least one hour. The section operates 24 hours a day, including holidays. (Phone: 31551322)

Panoramic (OPG) and Cephalometry

All radiographs related to the jaw, face, and dentistry are performed digitally in this unit. The device is manufactured by Vatech of Korea, and digital results are delivered to the patient immediately. This section operates 24 hours a day. (Phone: 31551326)

Features of the Imaging Department

  • Injection of contrast agents for CT scan, MRI, and radiography is performed in the presence of a specialist radiologist.
  • The imaging department is equipped with two fully equipped trolleys for emergency use and a recovery room with complete monitoring equipment for use when necessary.
  • An anesthesiology expert is on call in the MRI unit and another in the CT scan unit during morning, evening, and night shifts, providing services to patients in need when required.
  • The imaging department of the hospital currently has 7 specialist radiologists.
  • The imaging department currently has 6 female radiology experts and observes the gender-matching plan accordingly.
