With a suitable area and a design tailored to children, the Pediatric Ward at Behboud Hospital offers a safe and calm environment for admission and treatment. The ward includes:

  • Number of inpatient beds: 8 active beds
  • Rooms:
    • 4 single-bed rooms
    • 1 general (four-bed) room

  • Television with access to cartoon channels and films suitable for children
  • Personal refrigerator
  • Folding bed for the patient’s companion
  • Air conditioning system (heating and cooling)

  • Gastrointestinal disorders: including acute diarrhea and vomiting
  • Respiratory diseases: such as pneumonia and bronchiolitis
  • General pediatric surgery: tonsillectomy, appendectomy, and other specialized pediatric surgeries
  • Fever and seizures: assessment, control, and treatment
  • Orthopedic surgeries: related to children’s bone and joint problems
  • Admission for minor incidents and accidents: suturing and dressing
  • Neonatal jaundice: diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment (phototherapy when needed)

Admission Conditions and Patient Companions

  • Patient admission: Admission to the Pediatric Ward is around the clock and may take place via physicians’ offices and the hospital’s Emergency Department.
  • Access to physicians: During night hours, a resident pediatric specialist is present in the hospital and directly supervises the treatment and care of admitted children.
  • Age requirements for admission: All children up to 14 years of age and neonates.
  • Patient companion: One parent or legal guardian may accompany the child throughout the admission. The necessary amenities are provided in the rooms for companions.
